DrupalCon Europe Paris 2009

mrsimonelliott's picture

This year the French Drupal Association are proposing that the annual European DrupalCon be held in Paris. Should we win the tender we would like to think that we can count on the UK Drupal community to come to Paris to support what is going to be a great event.
If you have any suggestions or would like to help organise this event then visit our project page http://groups.drupal.org/drupalcon-paris-2009 .
Even if you can't make it in person it would still be cool to have your support.
Thanks

Hmmm, other French cities?

I'm moving to Uzes, near Avignon, so clearly I'm biased, but you'd probably get more people coming to somewhere sunnier like Montpellier or Marsailles! I'm not a fan of Paris... every time I go there something bad happens to me. ;-)

Why Paris?

Hi Greg
This is an international event where, based on past DrupalCons and preliminary figures for DrupalCon DC, we will be expecting in excess of 1200 people from all around the world. We need a city with superb transport links and venues big enough for Dries to address all delegates in one space. Also it's a bit late to change our minds as the proposal is due next week.
I can't guarantee if you come nothing bad will happen to you but we will try to look after you as best we can ;-)

BTW we are organising a Drupal Camp in Lyon 28th and 29th March http://groups.drupal.org/node/17577 It's just a few km's up the E15 from Avignon, you should come along.

All our events are bilingual.

I know

I was just kidding... though Marseilles might be a good future venue. There seems to be a lot of tech biz there. =)

Thanks for the link to the Lyon Drupal Camp. I will try to attend. But how will I improve my (bad) French if the events are bilingual?? ;-)
(Fortunately my wife is fluent...!)
