Come out this coming Monday to the February DC Drupal meetup, starting at 7:00 pm at Stetson's. This is a great chance to meet other local people using Drupal and talk about your experiences, challenges, and wins with the platform. These are casual events, and people with all levels of experience and expertise are welcome.
This meetup will follow our usual format. We'll have a round of 5-minute lightening presentations starting at 7:30 pm. Anyone can take the floor during this time to talk - for five minutes - about their work with Drupal. This is a great time to share what you've just learned about a module, what you've just built, or put a question out to the group. If you want to present, post your topic in the comments and come ready to talk. After the presentations, we'll go back to talking, drinking beer, and playing foosball and darts.
At this meetup, I'll be talking about DrupalCon - which will be here in DC in just a few weeks. There will be lots of fun opportunities to help out over the next few weeks and at the conference - I'll talk about these in detail on Monday.

two more weeks!

I'll be there, will talk about Artomatic
Held regularly since 1999, Artomatic transforms an unfinished indoor space into an exciting
and diverse arts event that is free and open to the public. In addition to displays by
hundreds of artists, the event features free films, educational presentations and children’s
activities, as well as musical, dance, poetry, theater and other performances. Artomatic 2008,
held in D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood, attracted a record-breaking 52,500 visitors and 1,540
participating artists.
For an all-volunteer organization to manage that many artists, and to help our 50,000 visitors
find the artists they're looking for, we need a good, flexible, and extensible CMS. We've been
using Drupal since our 2006 event, and we'd like to do even more. If you have time, and especially if you have
some experience with event.module, signup.module, and calendar views, we should talk.

We usually meet on the second Monday of the month, although we'll likely be skipping March, seeing how DrupalCon DC will be wrapping up right before our usual meetup date. But we'll be back on in April for sure!
