OC DRUPAL -- 2012

2012 is just around the corner and OC Drupal had a great 2011 ramping up from an extended period of dormancy. Special thanks to Kevin at KWALL and his crew for offering presentations, helping organize, and continuing to graciously host. Thanks also to all the enthusiastic members who have attended meetups.

In 2011, we gained control of the OC Drupal page on GDO, we operate on twitter as @ocphp (jointly with OCPHP to easily announce all things OC PHP and Drupal), gained probably close to 100 members on meetup, gained an incredible sponsor in @SendGrid, added Drupal Afterdark to our meetups for the social aspect, and thanks to Mario, we have an IRC channel on freenode where you can connect with fellow OC Drupal members; #drupal-oc.

Moving forward in 2012, we are looking to grow OC Drupal even more by inviting more interaction from the local OC community in the groups direction. A date in early December will be set and announced where we can just sit and talk a roadmap of group direction such as lining up presentations in 3 month blocks, how and who to approach for sponsorship (mainly food, support cost like meetup.com, and etc.), and how to grow the local talent pool to name a few. Stay tuned for the date --- open to any dates (non-weekends) or locations that people might have in mind. OC Drupal is about community and all are welcome to be part of the organization of it.
