Heya folks, linuxfest 2009 is coming up again in Bellingham, WA near the end of April (April 25-26). I'm hoping we can setup another mini drupal camp there, with 4 positions available, or 8 positions if we go into sunday.

I'm creating this as a wiki planning page, I'm going to try to make it to the meeting on the 19th so perhaps we can discuss this again.

Some suggestions at LFNW meeting tonight:
* Intro to drupal
* Hands on drupal
* getting Vancouver drupalists involved with those from Seattle (since b'ham is half way)

Ideas, suggestions?

We are planning a 2-day DrupalCamp in April too. Let's see if we can coordinate here. Linuxfest is April 25-26. Jennifer, Josh, and Josh are working on the 2 day DrupalCamp in Seattle (must be logged-in member of Seattle Drupal Camp group to see that link).

Jennifer's thoughts: If we're going to do Drupal at LinuxFest in an organized way, I think we need to think about what our main objectives are first. Is it to introduce new people to what Drupal can do? Introduce new people to how to use Drupal? To cover advanced topics and thereby attract more experience Drupalers to come? To give people with an interest in Drupal, who might be geographically distant, a chance to meet each other socially? To have a space where people can come and get their Drupal questions answered? Once the objective is set, then we can think about how to meet the objective. Though all of those objectives are worthwhile, I think the Drupal Camp format may be better than the LinuxFest format for meeting some of those objectives.

Regarding connecting with Vancouver: I feel like our Seattle group is nicely connected with the Vancouver Drupalists now, as we all went to each others' camps last year. I believe more connections can be forged if we continue that tradition; not as sure about LinuxFest as a great way to make those connections.

NOTE: I am a Drupal user up in Bellingham and have attended the last two Seattle DrupalCamps. I was planning to do some sort of Drupal presentation at LinuxFest Northwest, and thought I might volunteer to do something for the next Seattle DrupalCamp as well. I am not part of the Seattle Users Group, but would very much like to coordinate efforts with you all! I'll keep an eye on this to see how it develops!
