About Media Temple
Media Temple offers tons of hosting and virtual server configurations of all sizes. They have been our venue host for all of 2011.
About Stauffer New Media Development
Stauffer New Media Development is this year’s top sponsor of our big annual Drupal camp (DCLA 2011) and is headquartered in Los Angeles. Stauffer New Media Development is hiring and open for new clients - call us to join our team or to complete your Web projects.
Miscellaneous Info
Venue
In addition to providing a large venue for our monthly meetups (and cool architecture), Media Temple also provides the LA Drupal community with free Wi-fi, food, snacks, and beverages (water, soda, & beer). Media Temple is a webhosting and virtualization service provider with one of the largest virtualization deployments in North America, with more than 85,000 customers and more than 600,000 domains on both coasts of the United States. Media Temple has been the exclusive party sponsor of DrupalCamp LA two years in a row. When looking for a host that supports community, please add them to your list to check out!
Parking
There is on-street parking as well as a parking lot on Hayden Ave.
Come Early
The meetup begins usually at 7pm but the doors sometimes open a little earlier (6:30pm) for eating, meeting, and Users Helping Users; which is a chance for members of the community to help and be helped by others with whatever questions and problems they're having with Drupal. Please note that while Users Helping Users is not designed to be a replacement for professional consulting from Drupal experts, there are plenty of Drupal pros who attend our meetups so be sure to bring your business cards or resume.
We want your feedback!
During the meetup, we'll be gathered in the #drupal-la IRC channel and all are welcome to join us. The event organizers will try to incorporate messages from Twitter for feedback or questions that mention @ladrupal or use the #ladrupal hashtag.
Presenters / Lightning Talks
If presenting, be sure to bring your laptop, power adaptor, and display cables... and whatever else you need.
Lightning talks are 5 minute presentations from attendees. They tend to be less formal -- and there are no questions during the talk (not enough time). People can ask you all their questions during the networking session. Consider doing a lightning talk if you’re new or planning to present for the first time. It'd be great if you have a lightning talk that fits with the evening's theme!
As always, please feel welcome to leave a comment below and let others know what you'd like to present ahead of time.

Disappointed
Really wish I could make this. Tuesday nights have been out for me for a while now, and will be for a while. Miss the Drupaleros!
Hello Mediatemple
Since I have moved out here from Florida, I have always wanted to see the Media Temple headquarters. Learning about Drupal is a bonus!
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.” -Einstei
Looking forward to meeting Victor Kane - and bringing my book!
I've enjoyed thumping around my dog-eared, "Leveraging Drupal" book by Victor Kane. Now, I'm looking at the added bonus of having that tattered text being autographed by the author himself.
I think the last time I actually made an effort to have a book signed by its author was at the Puente Hills Mall, when Raquel Welch was promoting her Aerobics book - although in that case, I actually only bought the book to get into the short line of book purchasers so I could speak to her and shake her hand before they wrapped up the event and left many of her fans wanting.
Leveraging Drupal is more than simply another book detailing a development framework, in that it covers the complete development cycle of software projects, prototyping, bugtracking, Revision Control, and also encompasses the three most current major releases of Drupal.
This post bird-day meetup promises to be one of the last highlights for this year, and I'll see you all this evening!
Kindest regards
