Hey everyone - is there any interest in meeting up this month? We might be tired, cold, travelling - etc. Just checking with the community.

Looks like we all needed that
Looks like we all needed that winter break...
But now that the sun can be seen again here in Eugene, maybe its time to have another Drupal meetup.
I am spending a lot of time with CiviCRM - if there is mutual interest, I'd be happy to meet and discuss. I am interested in some feedback on how some implementations were run / managed. Also, who's watching the Context Core initiative discussions for Drupal 8? I think some very exciting things are happening! Seems like the 'panels' and 'context' ways are going to make it into Core, and perhaps Drupal will be slightly less kludgy for making pages.
yes, count me in
I'd like to go to a user group meeting. I haven't been to one before. If it was at J tea that would be really convenient for me. Usually daytimes before 2:30 are good for me, or Tuesday evening or the weekend. thanks. Karen Rainsong
OK
Just posting again, if there's 5 people I'll schedule a meetup! Vote.
What's happening with Drupal in Eugene right now? Is there any community initiative we want to support? How about Drupal 8, who's studying that?
I'm happy to meet at J-TEA, because if the Drupal meeting doesn't pan out, at least I can have some awesome tea.

drupal meetup
hi there, I am interested but I am still fairly new at it, so I intend to do more listening than talking at first. I'd like to hear what others are talking about that have been working with Drupal for longer and more intensively than me. I may have questions too. thanks! looking forward to it...
Karen
also interested...
I'm also interested in meeting up. I'm moving from Austin to Eugene and should be on the ground there the first week in April. I've been doing Drupal sites for clients for quite a few years. looking forward to it...
Interested
I would like to meet up as well. For me Wednesday and Friday evenings work best as well as the weekends.
I have used CiviCRM in the past and would be happy to discuss the current project.
It looks like we have some
It looks like we have some good momentum going here. The only downside to J-TEA is that seating is limited and on a busy day sometimes non-existent. Its cool to sit outside on a nice day, or go across the street to the Friendly St. Market if it doesn't work over at J-TEA. If people are willing to be adjustable, that's a great spot.
I thought I'd also like to shout out to the people meeting over at Sam Bonds. Would you like to join us in a meeting?
Sounds like we're ramping up for something in April. I'll leave a little bit more room for feedback and interest, and then tentatively propose something.
@krainsong; we're all new to Drupal, even if we already know drupal. its such a large multifaceted community you can get lost in any direction. what would be best is if we all knew what each other was good at or had interest in, so we could build up a community of skill sets.
@rodzilla1951; excellent, sounds like you have some good things to share
@theMusician; happy to talk CiviCRM! I wonder if you've had a chance to work with 4.x and views integration?
Vote For Meeting at Friendly Street
I'm busy with a lot of stuff outside of Drupal these days, so I'm probably not meeting up any time soon, but I follow this group and wanted to push for you guys meeting at Friendly Street Cafe in the market there. My buddy just bought the place, so I thought I'd give him a shout out and try to get him a little more business. : ) He has tea AND beer on tap, as well as some tasty organic food. Just my two cents. : )
As far as I am aware, there
As far as I am aware, there haven't been any recent meetups at Sam Bond's either... (a busy winter).
Also: Did everyone hear that Portland was selected as the location for DrupalCon 2013?
Early April sounds good
A Wednesday or Friday evening in the first or second week of April sounds good to me, but I hope we manage to find a time that works for everyone here. I can briefly share news about Drupal 8. Looking forward to meeting or reconnecting with you all.
I'll be away a good part of
I'll be away a good part of April, unknown dates as yet. If I'm in town I'll join you!
Sweet! Just the 3 I wanted to
Sweet! Just the 3 I wanted to hear from. Mid-April sounds good - I will review with the J-TEA owner if he can meet capacity, if not, does someone else have another good place to meet?
Me too!
I'm around mostly all of April and can meet most evenings except Mondays and Tuesdays.
I was at the last(?) J-Tea meeting and got inspired but then buried under other stuff at work. I'd be psyched to get another recharge of Drupal energy and share what my office has been working on r.e. Drupal 6, OG_Mailinglists and SalesForce for Non-Profits (been there, done that with CiviCRM so we're moving on.)

I'll be there...
A Wednesday or Friday in early April works for me.

I'm interested
I'm a small independent, haven't connected yet with the local Drupal community and would like to.

Proposed Date: Time - Please Comment
WHEN: Mid-April,
Wednesday, April 18th. 6:00PM
WHERE: The Friendly Street Market (S. Eugene). There's good food, seating, and they are open until 10PM. I will come in early and reserve space. @slowfamily; could you potentially help us with reservation, because you're friends with owner?
TOPICS:
* I'd like to make room for @effulgentsia to share information about Drupal 8. Also, if anyone has information about Drupal from Drupalcon, that could be shared too?
If most of us can agree on this, then we'll do it! Fall back plan would be same details, but Friday night.
Sounds good
Wednesday the 18th works for me. Friday the 20th doesn't, sorry, but I guess we can wait and see what others think of the 18th before figuring out fallback.
How about in addition to quick intros, everyone who wants to can do say a 5 or 10 minute lightning talk? Doesn't need to be formal: just tell us about something you find interesting or that you think we'll find interesting, and if it's helpful, point to a laptop screen in the process. I'll use my 10 minutes to talk about D8. Then after all the lightning talks, we can take a poll for whether there's something we want to go into more depth on, or else, just hang out and chat about random stuff.
nope
Sorry, the 18th doesn't work for me at all, usually wednesdays could work, but not the third wed of the month. If you want to still have it on that day I could just miss that one.
thanks
Karen
11th or 16th?
What about Wednesday 11th or Monday 16th?
[Edit: sorry, I see above that others have conflicts on Mondays.]
I can make it on April 18, but not the 11th
I have childcare responsibilities on alternating Wednesdays...
@effulgentsia - I think the
@effulgentsia - I think the lightning talks are a great idea. Lots of Drupal meetings are informal after we gain comfort - but since its a new group (kinda) its best we all share at least something!
EDIT: In an attempt to be respectful to all parties, and to find the most desirable date for all, lets do Wednesday the 18th.
Perhaps the next meeting can be on a time/date that works for anyone that missed this one.
I've done a lot of these scheduling things, and it can go on and on, but eventually we just decide.
Can I recommend setting a
Can I recommend setting a specific day of the week as in the 2nd wednesday of each month and letting the chips fall where they may. I understand the desire to match everyones schedule, but as I discovered with a CiviCRM meetup here in portland, we cant accomodate everyones schedule. Once it became more regular in scheduling we started to attract more people on a regular basis.
Its a great idea
In an effort to not lose all momentum, if we do the 3rd Wednesday of each month, we can keep with the 18th and move forward?
Its an excellent suggestion. There are usually two kinds of crowds - regulars and people who randomly drop in or want to meet. If our group is big enough, and actually interested enough to meet regularly, that would be excellent. My original post did sit around unnoticed for a long time, so I can only suspect that maybe that in the winter time Eugeners like to stay at home?
A Doodle Poll
Another thing that can work pretty well is setting up a poll at doodle.com with a number of dates. That way it's easy to see which day the most people can make it.
I like the 3nd Wednesday idea
I have a number of monthly gatherings and, fortunately, third Wednesdays are not among them. ;-)
~Tim~
18 April *and* 3rd Wednesday
I vote for 18 April and then the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Nothing like a regular schedule to help something land on my to-do list.
