I'm looking for an intro seminar. I use a Drupal site designed by a friend, and I would love to start skill building. If anyone can suggest a good intro, or if there's anyone out there who wants to trade lunch for an hour of Drupal-ness or barter acting coaching for Drupal lessons that would be rad. Local Love...
Your best best bet to get support, training and all round Drupal Love advice is to go to a Drupal Groups meeting which are typically hosted monthly in most major cities around the world. In Vancouver's case the next meeting is... in Surrey -> March 12th at the ABC on Fraser Hwy in Surrey, http://groups.drupal.org/node/19738. The meetings involve presentations and a way to make contacts for discussing all things Drupal.
Lots of Videos Online Now
Hey Michael. There are some great (free and for-pay) video series around, now. Sorry I don't have time to look them up for you, but off the top of my head Google "Learn by the Drop" and DrupalEasy. Lynda.com and Lullabot have for-pay stuff. Subscribing to the Planet Drupal RSS feed is a great way to ease into the community (just read what makes sense, more and more will over time).
At both the Vancouver and Surrey monthly meetings time is set aside for Q&A.
