I really enjoyed the install profile talk that Boris gave on Saturday about install profiles and how they can make everyone's life a lot easier. But I think there were still a couple of things I felt I missed and was wondering if anyone could help clear them up.

1. Boris placed the themes and modules folders inside the Profile folder and said something to the effect that if you install the site using the profile Drupal remembers that your modules and themes are in that folder, is that correct, or did I miss something?

I'm nearing the end of my current project and about to start a few others. I'm usually a lone coder but I'm thinking it would be cool to meet up with some other non-elites in Vancouver, newish to Drupal and work on a project or two together. We can learn from each other and perhaps make something cool. I'm sure there are others out there like me kinda between the "I suck" and "I kick ass" threshold, not quite ready for the big leagues but wanting to get there quick. Or am I the only one?

If interested, message me or introduce yourself at Drupal Camp!

I had an idea for a new drupal module and I'm wondering if anyone else likes the idea enough to discuss the work involved and perhaps work on it with me. Or someone may know if this already exists and can just point me to the right direction.

A module that will export/import a filtered set of supported nodes, with the option to include attachments, comments and revisions. Essentially a node migration module.

I'm going through a "baptism by fire" of sorts in that I'm using Drupal right away on a new project. My client is high profile and insists on a very short time line. I should have said no can do, but I'm foolishly masochistic about these things.

    I need help!

I'm looking for someone who can sit down with me over a laptop and a few coffees and provide a bit of guidance. Just a few hours of your time in the next few weeks would be awesome. I can pay.

I generally like to figure things out myself but find I am getting stuck on a few things and am not getting better at understanding or using drupal. I have completed one site already for a former boss; its not great and is very basic, but its not hideous either.

    Vancouver DrupalCamp this summer?

    Ariane - Tue, 2008-02-05 00:47

    Hey all,

So a few of us were chatting after the meetup about the desire for a more extended Drupal geekout, and thinking about possibilities for a DrupalCamp in town this summer... Someone was saying that they thought there was one being organized for April, but didn't really know anything more about it. Does anyone know if this is true and if so who is organizing?

And if not, since the spring is already so jam-packed, I am wondering if it might be a better idea to organize one for a little later on, perhaps June-ish?

Info? Ideas? Input? Please post here!

    Theming workshops?

I've heard rumors of a theming workshop to happen in the New Year, and I wasn't really into or aware of Drupal enough to have caught the recent BAD Camp.

So I was wondering if there were any intentions by the folks over at Raincity or Bryght (well they're the same thing now), or anywhere else for that matter, to host a theming workshop sometime in the New Year. If so, even preliminary details would be good at this stage, even a promise would suffice :)
