Vancouver
Welcome to VANDUG!
This is the Vancouver League of Drupallers. We generally meet once a month (typically 3rd or 4th Thursday) on a variety of topics, both technical and non-technical. There is no cost to join the group or attend our monthly meetings. Feel free to post your "how to" or other questions that this small group may be able to help you out with.
If you have presentation suggestions, please add them to our wiki page: Presentation Planning.
If you'd like to present, please contact Dale McGladdery.
Pacific North West Summit
UPDATE: http://pnwdrupalsummit.org/ is online, go register!
Hey all - I figured it was about time to get a planning page up for anyone who's planning on going down to Seattle in October for the Summit. There's been a little delay in getting their separate event site up, but it will be up shortly with much more info, for now there is a little info here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/24368.

October Meetup
Join us at 6:30pm on Thursday October 29, 2009 at Appnovation Technologies (note, different location this month) for the Vancouver League of Drupalers October meeting. This month's feature presentation: Information Architecture for Drupal - A User Based Approach with Vanessa Turke. Implementing a fresh design or new CMS without giving some significant thought to the organization of the actual content of the site can be a costly mistake – a new look or a new system is not a fix for a poorly-structured website with boring content! Vanessa discuss hows how some careful planning at the beginning of the process can help.
We'll also have a case study on the newly relaunched Vancouver Observer by Dave Egan and discuss doing a Vancouver Drupal Camp in 2010.
Date: Thursday October 29, 6:30pm
Location: Appnovation Technologies, L200-560 Beatty Street, Vancouver, BC [Map]
Cost: There is no charge and all are welcome
For those who don't need to leave right away there's typically a more social discussion at a local pub afterwards.

Use one compound field or many fields, which is the good practice?
I got a problem when developing a compound field (Drupal 6, cck 2). It has an Imagefiled, a few textarea/textfield/checkboxes, etc.
I realize that I must allow users to upload multiple images. Unfortunately, the compound field as an entire field can be set to allow "unlimited" number of values , but not the individual field (the image field) in the compound field. I step into module files and database and did some research, and found it is hard to achieve this by using "Drupal Way".

Drupal-focused Work Space Coop
While on our way to the Pacific North West Summit Ben, Steve and I had a discussion re: the possibility of creating a Drupal-focused work space coop in Vancouver. I talked to some people at the conference about it too and no one told me it was a dumb idea (or were they just polite?). So, I am interested in opening a discussion on the topic to a wider audience and see if would be something desirable and feasible.
What would be this workspace?
