Inspired by events like Launch Party and the like, what do people think of having a night of lightning talks for the April meeting? Say four to six 10 or 15 minute slots for people to come up and talk about something cool, interesting or informative.
Thoughts?

not really lightning talks but +1 on the idea
also how about every meeting having 5 x two minute lightning talks
sounds like a cool idea.
sounds like a cool idea.
Good idea but...
Good idea but I'm having a hard time coming up anything interesting that can be covered in 2 - 10 minutes. Does anyone have an example?
think harder :-)
lots of ideas come to mind
but here's one to get you started that i volunteer to do in april (i won't be at march event probably)
"git for drupalers in 2 minutes"
Yay for git!
git? cool! 2 minutes? I'll bring the stop watch.
i probably can do it in 1:30 seconds haha
meet me at the japadog flashmob 12mar09 at noon at pender and burrard for a sneak peek of the full 2 minute presentation!

if u r passionate about anything drupal but r "presentation-shy"
my suggestion is to:
suitable topics:
1. your favourite contrib module(s)
2. drupal theming trick(s)
3. drupal config trick(s)
4. something you have tried in drupal but failed at or didn't understand - we can all learn from our "not so successful stories" - in fact i have learned the most from these kind of things
Sounds great
What about also having lightening Q&A after each lightening talk?
Or is that too much lightening?
Views for noobs in 5 minutes
If Roland can do git in 2 minutes, I'll give a short Views tutorial in 5 minutes or less.
cool! go ryan go!
anybody else? remember you don't have to be an expert, just have tried something and done some research or coding or documentation, whatever as long as you have given it your best shot, it's probably worth sharing!
