I'm happy to announce that Brevard Workforce has given us permission to use some space at their facility in Rockledge, Florida for Drupal Co-working Friday. This means that we'll be able to join our friends in Orlando, Tampa, and around the world for the first-ever Drupal Co-working Friday!
We have access to the space from 9am until 4pm on Friday, January 27th. WiFi is available (although everyone will have to sign a "terms of use" document in order to gain access). The space only has room for 12 people, so please use the Sign Up button below if you're definitely planning on attending. If you do attend, when you arrive at the main reception area, ask for directions to the "Drupal Co-working Mezzanine" area.
The address of Brevard Workforce is: 297 Barnes Boulevard, Rockledge, FL 32955 (Google Maps)
If you have an extra extension cord and power strip, you might want to bring it along. I checked out the space today, and power outlets appeared to be in short supply.
UPDATE: I've attached Brevard Workforce's Acceptance Policy for getting on their WiFi. You can save yourself some time by downloading, reading, signing, and bringing it with you on Friday.
Questions? Comments? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks,
-mike

Food & Drinks
Mike,
Normally, Brevard Workforce doesn't allow food or drinks inside; however, they do allow Biz Launch members and Launch Pad Job Club members to bring food and drinks, as those meetings are several hours long. Considering the Drupal Co-Working Friday is all day long, I'm sure you can arrange it so that we are allowed to bring food and drinks, as well. For those that can't live without their "wake-up drink of choice", I highly recommend they bring it, as there are no vending machines!
For lunch, you can travel west on Barnes towards Murrell and find the assorted fast-food places (McDonalds, Lil Caesars, Subway; etc.) (Google Map), or may I suggest the Thai Fuji Restaurant? Never eaten there, but the google reviews are great and the urbanspoon reviews seem good.
discretion
Bob,
The word is to be discreet with any food and drink that you bring in. Keep food and drinks in a bag or pouch and don't spill anything. Brevard Workforce wants to make this work as much as we do, so we need to be as respectful of their space as possible.
For lunch, I'll strongly suggest Alamo Mexican Kitchen... (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=alamo+resturant,+rockledge,+fl&hl=en...)

Lunch
Mike,
I totally agree with the "discretion", and the fact they don't want anything to spill. I've gotta have my coffee in the morning! Since you recommend Mexican, it sounds good!
Bob
signed up
I have a meeting in the morning, so I plan to arrive about lunch time. Do you know what time you guys will be going to lunch and where? I may join you if I can.
BJ
lunch
For lunch, let's plan on all meeting at Alamo (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=alamo+resturant,+rockledge,+fl&hl=en...) at 12:30pm.

Cancelling
Mike,
Have to cancel attending the Brevard Co-Working, as my company needs me to attend the Orlando Co-Working. They spent a lot of hours and effort in getting my dev environment all set up and running, and I've successfully downloaded the Rideau website to my local host and even updated it without problems. Don and Andrew want to have a look at everything that's set up on my system, and review with me the components of WAMP, SVN, MySQL Workbench, Netbeans, Apache, Drush, VirtualBox, and Putty that make up my dev environment.
It was good seeing you and Ben Tuesday night at the Melbourne Meetup, and I will make it a point to re-schedule my Tennis match to make it to the Thursday night meetups in Cocoa. Have fun, tomorrow!
Bob, I'm curious as to you
Bob, I'm curious as to you use Netbeans for in a Drupal dev environment?
JCL
NetBeans IDE 7.1
I have only used NetBeans IDE 7.1 as a PHP editor, thus far. I have used Notepad ++ for this purpose, but my colleague who was assisting me in setting up my dev environment suggested I download it, even though he, as an Ubuntu user, has never used it. He said that many developers use it because it’s a more power tool than just an editor.
Here’s what the Git User Guide tutorial has to say about NetBeans IDE 7.1:
I downloaded Slik SVN 64-bit for version control and it works very nice; however, Drupal is leaving CVS behind, and migrating all Drupal.org code repositories to Git. So, it looks like I’ll be reading up on Git. While in Mike’s DSCP course, he went through the steps on installing Git. Drupal actually recommends installing msysgit
for getting Git on Windows, so we installed it in class.
See You In the Morning!!
Mike,
See you in the morning...

IRC
I tried to get IRC up and running yesterday. But ran into a stop when the Miranda install asked me to choose/enter a server. I didn't know which to choose. Can someone at the Rockledge Coworking Friday help me get on IRC? I plan to be there this afternoon. Thanks!
