Let's take five to discuss Mentored Drupal training vs Drupal Clinic to see which would work best for BEGINNER training course(s) to preceed the PNW Drupal Summit in October.

Approach 2: NodeOne Learning Library

This approach could be combined with presentations for applying what has been learned.

Approach 3: Repeat Drupal Clinic 2011

http://drupalkata.com/seattle-drupal-clinic/seattle-drupal-clinic-2011

Approach 4: Something new

Issues for discussion:

  1. Pros and Cons of above approaches to train beginners pre-summit
  2. Who would mentor/participate/teach
  3. Topics to be trained (website building, theming, installation & staging, administration, etc.)
  4. How to continue this discussion and make plans

Discussion summary Feb 16
1. Mentor training appears to be the best approach since a lot of people's time will be sucked up by the PNW Drupal Summit preparation for October 20-21 on UW campus.
2. By show of hands, 9 people said they would be willing to mentor a one day class. Josh Kopel will be helping Chris Shattuck give a mentoring session at the Denver Drupalcon on March 20-22. Josh will report back and we should have some recommendations for the April 19 SeaDUG meeting. Josh said he would be willing to emcee the mentoring class.
3. Training topics pending April 19 SeaDUG meeting.
4. Planning platform pending April 19 SeaDUG meeting.

Module feedback

I'd still love to demo, and get feedback on, the nodequeue add-on module I recently wrote.
