I would like to propose a change in ownership of this group: 'United Kingdom'.
The current owner: SimonP doesn't seem to be active any more, and there aren't any further admins in the group so we are unable to use the functionality of groups.drupal.org for using panels to organise the group homepage etc.
I would like to propose that I am made owner of this group, and that other people are appointed as admins at the same time.
I am an organiser of the West Midlands group and am an active member of the Drupal community as a whole.
I am following the procedure described here:

As the procedure states to do, I've contacted SimonP about this post.

Hi Steven.
I'd support you in this, and would love to help if needed.
As you know, I am an organiser of the Oxford Drupal User Group and we are keen for more communication and co-ordination amongst the UK user groups.
If this helps with that, great!
Cheers.

As discussed on twitter, I would love to help in having a centralised place for events in the UK.
Anything that will help achieve this, I am in for.
Hear, hear!
I think it would be a good idea, and would also like to be an admin. :-)

+1
I was surprised that g.d.o wasn't being used more for a centralised UK place. the drupal.org.uk is also good, but this feeds events into the g.d.o pool, etc and it's easier to find.
Also keep in mind, g.d.o is moving to "blue cheese" so the panels won't look the same.
Go to your account > and change your theme selection to Bluecheese to preview. More info here on giving feedback, etc:

I would mainly like to use panels to highlight events over the torrents of Jobs postings this group gets, but still have a place where people can find job postings easily.
