Drupal Pittsburgh June Meet-up -- June 16
Location
Brillobox (2nd floor)
4104 Penn Avenue
The Brillobox has great food and drinks and also an upstairs space with a projector, so you can bring your laptop and demo what you've been doing for the past month and a half.
Also, I know there are a few people who offered to present about different Drupal tools and topics, so post a comment or let me know if you'd like to do a 15-20 min presentation.
If we like the space, we can see if we can get on the monthly schedule of events. Dorkbot Pittsburgh is one of the monthly events held there.
Agenda
To make sure we can fit everything into the night, here's a loose schedule.
| 6-7 | Ordering food, hanging out (you have to get food downstairs and bring it up, so if you want to order then you'll want to get there at least 15 mins before 7) |
| 7-7:50 | Demo what you're doing |
| 7:50-8:05 | Presentation 1 |
| 8:05-8:20 | Presentation 2 |
| 8:20-9 | Wrapping up: Moving Drupal Pittsburgh forward with roles and marketing |

Just added a wrap up topic, "Moving Drupal Pittsburgh forward with roles and marketing"
Roles
Since we have all of this stuff we want to do (organize a DrupalCamp, have a presence at Netroots Nation and/or Podcamp Pittsburgh), we should start planning.
We may want to consider formal roles. Some I can think of are:
Marketing
Also, since we're planning on starting to have a presence, we should talk over marketing. I know that before we were having meetings, someone registered a domain and started a Drupal_PGH twitter account (this may or may not be someone in the group, not sure). Lets figure out how to use these (and use them actively) to promote the group.
Everything is on the table (including the name Drupal Pittsburgh), so be ready to shout out some ideas.
gahhh
I swear I'll be around for one of these; lol. Everyone thus far has fallen on a date when I'm heading out of town or just getting back from PGH.

Thanks Lindsay for oragnizing the first Drupal Pittsburg meeting
You did a pretty wonderful job of explaining things. I learned quite a bit from it. I plan to attend as many meetings as I can. Hopefully Tony will rock us with his SEO knowledge as it relates to Drupal. See you all at next meeting.
YEAH BABY!
Can anybody point me to some cool SEO modules... :) Maybe I'll write some of my own!
Rock on !

Thanks for the compliment, Jolly :)
As far as SEO modules, there is a pretty comprehensive list given when you use http://drupal.org/project/seo_checklist -- though you'll want to read a little bit about them before enabling, I know in particular that XMLsitemap have caused site problems for people in the past
XMLsitemap / SEO
Discussion of the plans for XMLsitemap:
http://blog.davereid.net/content/state-of-drupal-xml-sitemap-2009
My understanding is that XMLsite map is actively being fixed but you really should not use the 6.x-1.x or 5.x-2.x versions if you have more than 100 pages. Wait for 6.x-2.x to be working.
