Ottawa June Meetup | Theme: Media
The theme for this meetup will be Media. There were questions being asked at the May meetup about best practices to provide video and audio content in a Drupal site so we will be discussing ways to do this. If anyone has a lot of experience and wishes to offer a more formal presentation on what they've done, the challenges they faced and how they over came them please comment and we'll work it into the evening.
Wirespeak has again offered up their office in the ByWard Market (78 George St, Suite 2) and hopefully the weather will be nice enough to head out to a patio afterward. If a lot of people sign up for this meet up we may need to look at moving to a larger venue, so keep watching this space!

Post-meeting research
I put imagecache on one of my sites last night, and it looks very cool.
I also read more of the Drupal Multimedia book (by Aaron Winborn / Packt Publishing) and it does, indeed list Brightcove as one of the providers you can use with Emfield (embedded media field) in the chapter about third-party video hosting, but I don't think any of my sites will grow enough to justify the cost, so I'll stick with Youtube (or other similar services) for embedding and Camtasia on my desktop to do conversion for downloads/DVDs of our campaign videos.
