Rendering, Searching and Printing Blog Content

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

This is probably a beginner question but, that's what I am so I'll ask.

I've been placing the meeting minutes from our various groups into the blog content type because it makes it so easy to see what content is the newest and also easy to set up RSS for the individual members.

The problem is the minutes come in various versions of Word which doesn't save well as HTML. I can't just save these as .pdf because that makes it impossible to search (the content is behind our firewall)

Saving the content as plain text is not only unattractive, it hamstrings the efforts the groups have made to make certain elements like decisions stick out (highlighting, bold type etc...).

Then there's printing. A lot of people like to print these documents up.

For the last few submissions, I've merely put the content in as a framed pdf with the contents in white text so people will find it when they search but will be presented with a nicely formatted pdf.

There's got to be something out there that would make all this work well besides building a search engine via Lucene or the like but, as you can see, I can't think of a succinct way of searching for an answer.

Can anyone point me to a solution?

Thank you,
-Kevin
