Utilizing Organic Groups

Hi,

I am trying to utilize organic groups for a group in my church. I would like this to be a private group and have members able to post content, comments, questions, etc.

I have it pretty much setup, however, in order to allow individuals to post content, I've had to give them permission to use the administrative toolbar. This caused me to create a new role (outside of OG).

Is there a better way to accomplish this? Am I really heading in the right direction?

Also, I would like to implement some type of forum that would be in conjunction with OG groups and permissions. I'm not finding a very good solution at this time.
