Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi Everyone,

I just posted my first blog about our (Isovera's) project to build an OPAC front-end in Drupal. The blog itself is about the various ways to connect to an ILS (web services/NCIP, SIP2, direct database, etc).

https://www.isovera.com/blog/connecting-integrated-library-system-ils-ex...

I'm new to the library world so please don't hesitate to dress me down in the comments!

In future posts I'll get much more into the Drupal end of things and show how I'm trying to combine approaches from existing ILS/OPAC related modules (namely, Alex Arnaud's OPAC project and the eXtensible Catalog project) with the D7 paradigm of entities, fields and API's (for which Drupal Commerce is a big inspiration).
