Any Philly Freelancers Out There?

acouch's picture

We get requests for work from time to time that would be better suited for freelancers. Are there Drupal freelancers out there who are looking for work?

If so please comment here, and/or give me a shout at aaron@zivtech.com.

Theming and nonprofit optimization

Aaron, you and I spoke last night, but for anyone else who sees this thread, I build a lot of Drupal websites for nonprofits, and specialize in theming (since nonprofit-site functionality is itself not usually that complicated). I especially enjoy (yes!) theming views, and wrote most of the Theming Views 2 handbook page, which I hope will be integrated in some form into Views' advanced help soon, at the DC DrupalCon doc sprint.

Some of my theming work is available at http://rootwork.org/portfolio and I can also give additional examples of work I've done on contract that isn't in the portfolio.

Additionally, given my audience, I focus on methods for making Drupal more friendly for both content-contributors (bloggers, etc.) and non-technical administrators (moderators, program directors, EDs, etc.). At Drupaldelphia 2009 I did a module showcase on that topic, and at Drupaldelphia 2008 I did a show-and-tell of nonprofit Drupal sites and nonprofit approaches to using Drupal.

Ivan, as I've said before,

Ivan, good to see you last night. As I've said before, your Casino Free Philly is a great site and a great cause: http://www.casinofreephila.org/

Theming, audience focused information architecture, and UX

Aaron, thanks for starting this thread - I do a bit of freelance work in the Philly area as well. I only work with non-profits.
My approach is pretty comprehensive, looking at broad communications strategies, starting with strategic analysis of audience and positioning, looking at the content development process, writing for the web and writing for an audience, and finally, building a site using Drupal which is effective, and manageable for non-technical staff.
I should note I do my freelance work on the side in addition to a 9-5 job as strategic online communications manager, so my freelance hours can be a little quirky.

Get in touch with me for some examples of my work chrisp@fgcquaker.org.
