For the few among us on Google +, I created a Drupal Montréal page to ease fining each other there and re-post upcoming events (manually).
Pour ceux d'entre nous sur Google +, j'y ai créé une page Drupal Montréal afin de nous y trouver plus facilement et de re-poster (manuellement) les futures événements.

Good idea! This would be the correct link though.
For all these things...
I believe that there should be multiple people with admin priviledges. It is one of the reservations I have about the Facebook group that was created years ago by one of the service providers in Montreal. Recently another FB group was setup and we have yet to see how much participation it will encourage in terms of administration. This g.d.o group, e.g., has multiple people and is open to adding others.

I agree.
I agree. My main goals to easily spot/find other Drupalistas from Montréal on Google + and to offer a second channel for event announcements (with the added bonus of Google Calendar integration).
The good news is that it is possible (and easy) to have multiple managers for a single page on G+. I can also transfer to ownership of the page should it be needed or wanted by the community. I don't known the procedure to get management right here on g.d.o, but whatever that is I suggest to follow the same on G+.
Also, I've no wish to add another independent discussions channel for the community as it will likely dilute both the discussions and the community. So the plan is to disable comment on most (if not all) posts by the Drupal Montréal page on G+. To goal is to get more people to participate here on g.d.o.
re: procedures...
... for adding admin's to this groups (which could be a model for other fora), the bottom line is that we don't really have any. As far as I know, until now it has been done quite informally based on people 1) being active, 2) having a desire/need to act on the site and 3) where nobody else expressed reservations (although there has ever been an official call for comments).
Glancing at the list (in the sidebar at right), I see 5 (out of 9) people who I know, off-the-top-of-my-head, have contributed to the page within the last year. IMO, it could be good to clean up the list (and to have mechanisms for doing so), but this isn't a big deal as long as there's no abuse. Cleaning up for the sake of cleaning up is more likely to result in feelings of exclusion than in any tangible benefits.
BTW, I also note that Robin Millette is no longer an admin despite the fact that he 1) did contribute in the past, 2) does have good ideas about how to use such tools and is now an elected member of the Montreal Drupal Association who expressed an interest in helping the community setup some more dedicated/customizable infrastructure (which, invariably would have to interact with this site). Robin, do you want in again?
Anyway, I guess this would all be better in a dedicated thread on the subject.

Je me suis retiré des "Group
Je me suis retiré des "Group organizers" après la 2e ou 3e fois que j'ai vu un meeting callé pour le lendemain et ça m'avait exaspéré. I'm over that now.
