Greetings! If you're interested in constructing multilingual Drupal sites, come to Oakland tomorrow for what's sure to be an awesome EBDUG meeting. We're going to be treated to a presentation on multilingual Drupal sites by perhaps the premier authority in the field, none other than Kristen Pol, author of the Packt book Drupal 7 Multilingual Sites. Kristen will be previewing the presentation she'll be giving next month at DrupalCon: "Multilingual Module Madness"
This presentation will be more of an introductory-level than the DrupalCon one. Want to follow along? Pre-load your laptop with the Localized Drupal Distribution and you'll be good to go!

Configuring a multilingual site in Drupal 7 is not for the faint of heart. If you search for i18n-related modules on drupal.org, you’ll find nearly 100 listed! So, which ones do we really need? And, why?
Our goal will be to discuss the most important modules for creating a multilingual Drupal 7 site but we will also touch upon some optional modules that might make sense for certain sites.
