Meetups

Are there any plans in the works for DrupalDrinks on Saturday night? I won't be able to make it on Saturday, but I'd love to catch up with those whom I know, and get to know those who I've never met.

All that learning might hurt your brain without a little injection of alchohol- anyone interested in meeting up after the Saturday sessions for a drink and/or some food? If so, when/where?

I can't seem to find any information whatsoever about a February meetup. Am I blind? I left the Jan meetup a little before the end so maybe I missed a verbal announcement. It seems to me that whether a monthly meeting is scheduled or cancelled, that info should be prominently displayed on this page. If it's not, maybe I'll see some of you at DrupalCon in Boston.

For the October Meetup I'm thinking we can do something laid back and fun. Let's meet at Sweet & Vicious after work on Tuesday October 30th from 6-8pm.

Sweet & Vicious is a good after work bar that still retains some aspects of the old Bowery. It is the only business in a massive graffiti clad building, which still looks like it is occupied by squatters.

We can all get to know each other, trade some ideas, and start implementing those ideas in the month to come. Feel free to post your interests in the comments below.

Do you have something you want to learn in an upcoming meetup, knowledge you would like to share, cool ideas, or suggestions? Post your thoughts here and we'll try to integrate them into the next meetup. I'll make sure to stay on top of this thread though it may get pushed down over the course of the month.

Here are a few suggestions from a previous post to get us started. I've added some comments in brackets.

DrupalCampNYC3 is over and everything has finally been wrapped up. The camp was a big success bringing over 130 people together for one full day of Drupal Goodness and a second day of developer hacking. As usual the crowd consisted of people from all walks of life from the complete new-to-drupal person to the advanced Drupal hacker. It was a great time. Thanks to everyone that attended!

Thanks to Ivan's efforts and the generosity of Fast Company, we will be holding the next Drupal meetup at 7 World Trade Center. The meeting room is big, it has a projector, and there will be wi-fi available. The venue also offers 360 degree views of the city, but we don't care about that!

Please reply to this post with your full name to confirm your attendance. If you do not confirm by 4PM Monday, you will not get in. This is a very easy but important step. We need to have a list to the front desk security by this time. Also, bring some form of photo ID in case it is needed.

When you arrive, go through the turnstiles proceed to the C elevator bank and press 29 on the keypad. I will be available before 7PM to help everyone, but please try to arrive on time. If you have any issues, give me a call at 718-877-8494.

I believe Ivan will be talking about the Drupal project that Fast Company is working on with Lullabot. Please feel free to suggest additional topics or projects that we should focus on.

It looks like the group is picking up steam. We have 143 subscribers and had a big turnout in April.

Its that time again. DrupalCon is this week so a meetup is pretty much impossible with everyone heading out of town. (Next week would be difficult too).

People should be back from DrupalCon, the code from the SF Code sprint should be committed and a whole new slew of functionality available (right?).

Its that time again!!! Meetup! Whoot!

Thanksgiving is the 23rd so lets meet on the 28th. The Turkey should be out of our systems and life will, unfortunately, be returning to normal; along with all of our Drupal (and other) projects.

The last Tuesday of this month is Halloween and I figured that people didn't want to talk about Drupal when they could be out getting FREE CANDY!!! or at least scaring some kids, participating in the halloween day parade or other fun things.

This needs a host. I will be in California, the space at MNN is still available but I won't be there. Can someone show up around 6:45 just to turn the lights on, open the door and guide the new people to the room? please...

Now this isn't saying that Drupal isn't fun but... well halloween is more fun ;)
