Jen Lampton (Author of Total control) and I are working with Chapter Three to offer two Drupal training courses. The first two-day course is designed for new-to-Drupal site builders and the second three-day course is designed for still-kinda-new-but-want-to-rock-it Drupal developers or aspiring developers.

We have a fancy page up at Chapter Three with all the information: http://www.chapterthree.com/training

We've created curriculum that has been tested in several of my own courses that I've done here in the States, over in China and recently in Jordan and then combined that with Chapter Three's curriculum, their experience in training their clients, and Jen's own experience in the classroom. The quick description of both of the courses is below. Click over to the main website to learn more about the classes and to get in touch.

Beginning Drupal for Site Builders -- Dec 14th & 15th

In two days time, you’ll be brought up to speed on Drupal and be ready to tackle your own project. This course is designed both for users with no Drupal experience and those with a bit of Drupal experience that want to expand their knowledge and dig deeper into their sites. We'll have in-depth discussions on Drupal’s installation process and managing your users, comments, and content. You'll also review Drupal's block system and using taxonomy to categorize your content.

On the first day, significant time is devoted to creating new content types using the Content Construction Kit (CCK) and exploring field types, widgets, and the corresponding settings.

The second day is dedicated entirely to CCK and Views. Views is a powerful tool that is used to create custom pages, blocks, and RSS feeds on your site. You'll finish the day by creating a photo gallery using CCK, Image field, and Views.

Drupal Module Development -- Dec 16th, 17th & 18th

You're a front-end Drupal ninja master, you’ve used CCK, Views and Panels to create some of the greatest websites out there, but you’ve never built your own module. Over three days you’ll go from writing a small, four-line module to writing a complex module with over two hundred lines of code that uses the Forms API, Schema API, all of the top ten Drupal hooks, creates custom database tables, adds a custom CCK field, and even tests itself using Simpletest.

Sound intense? It is, but if you’re up for it than in just three days you’ll jump from zero development to understanding how over 90% of Drupal modules are built.
