The Eastside will be documenting each of us presenting our various projects. Hey this sounds like a BarCamp.

This meeting should stay local
I don't think that we should aim for a teleconference at our first westside meeting. I think that this should be more on the order of a social meet and greet.
I am happy to discuss any aspect of Drupal development and deployment, although as a specialist in libraries (the book kind, not the software kind), I don't deal much with ecommerce.
We could also talk about the new Pro Drupal Development book from Apress. I think that this book is a good starting place for folks who want to get into the code. Its biggest shortcomming is that it doesn't pay enough attention to development methods that don't involve code, like Views and CCK.
I am also just starting to work with OG, another hot topic, so we could discuss that.
Social meeting
Thanks for introducing what you do and where you are at with Drupal. I'm very much into the desktop publishing and library services from both an Art Conservation and community empowerment perspective.
While I'm not interested in learning to code in Drupal (I still have so much to learn about my web publishing toolkit of choice: OACS) I am interested in the CiviCRM as a framework to systematically support widely available mobile communications.
Caltek.net is the LINCT Coalition California partner. We use Time Dollars as an alternative currency and computer recycling (with the help of liveCDs and other Linux based software systems) in our Train the Trainer program which targets artists and existing networks like CA CTCNet Affiliates, which is the most diverse community technology system I know of, today.
I say all of this to set the stage for the project information that I plan on sharing out the Tuesday Drupal meetings at Roosevelt High School.

I'll be there tomrorrow at 6
If anyone else shows up, I guess that makes it a meeting.
See you there
I'm on the westside today, and I need to get some Drupal-hacking in, so why not show up?
6-8pm at the Casino Bakery is a go.
agenda?
is there a plan? why meet, other than to raid the bakery and say hey? any kind of agenda or goal(s)?

I think that we should
I think that we should discuss our plan. As I mentioned earlier, I will bring my semi-cherished copy of Pro Drupal Development for everyone to fawn over.
I'll be there
Looking forward to the hack fest!!! :)
Culver City works well for me
Just noting that I like Culver City.

Is this meeting happening?
Hi .. I'm a CS PhD student at UCLA looking to use drupal as a front-end for some large computational biology databases. I'd love to meet drupal people on the westside.
Is this meeting happening?
Starbucks in Redondo Beach
Feel free to drop in to the Starbucks on the corner of Hawthorne and Artesia.
When is this happening?
When is this happening? Redondo might be doable for me.
I am there pretty much most afternoons into evenings
It is a great work environment with a big table to work at. Often there are other devs there as well. Feel free to skype me at larryeitel.
Proposing new location for west side meetings
I'd like to mention my offering to house the L.A. West Side Drupal group meetings in a prepared facility in the heart of Venice, off Abbot Kinney/Venice Blvd. I currently run an authorized Adobe user group there and it's a great place for these types of meetings. We have a 150" projector with speakers, free Wi-Fi, water, and restrooms.
Wanna see a picture of the place? Check it out at http://www.richmediainstitute.com/about
Please email me (chris [at] laflash.org) if you have any questions or comments, otherwise I'd ask that we announce the next west side meeting to be held at this location.

Seems like a great venue...
...especially since flash/flex/services/drupal integration is something that a lot of people are looking for/want to learn about. I'm not sure what's been happening on the West Side (with meetups). Think it would be ideal to tie the various agendas/projects that we've been kicking around. Possibly use the west side meetups as a time/place to problem solve and work on projects.
Thoughts?

Yup
Yup. Just waiting to get this all out and rolling. I think I suggested meetings during the week since the facility has more weekend courses than anything.
