I recently got the admin role in the Sweden group, but I cannot find any information about what an admin is supposed to do. Is there any page describing this? I noticed some changes such as the permission to edit any post, using panels etc, but it would be great to have a complete list of the permissions and responsibilities of an admin.
Perhaps the about page could include a section describing the different roles at g.d.o such as Webmaster, Group Manager, Admin, Authenticated User and Anonymous User.

great idea
I posted a wiki for this at http://groups.drupal.org/node/42654
I know there's not a big group of people who can help build that page, but hopefully in time we'll get it complete and then link to it from the about page.

should we put this in the handbook?
i'm wondering if we shouldn't put some info about stuff like this, and maybe general tips for admins somewhere in the drupal handbook? maybe somewhere in here: http://drupal.org/node/314178 what do you think?
Management roles on G.D.O
I am reading this and think the initial post applies to the G.D.O site specifically and not Drupal admin in general. If that is the case...
Since the handbook is for Drupal in general and not G.D.O specifically, then adding info to the page that Greggles started above seems like a good place for "Management Roles in G.D.O".
There are probably opportunities to add similar things to the Handbook in a "getting started" section or something like that.
Maybe if you describe some more of what you are thinking, I might get a better understanding.
The section I linked to is a
The section I linked to is a subsection of the "Getting Involved" handbook. I would think that would be a great place to have some info for groups admins, and how to get involved in user groups, and some more meta info about what goes on in g.d.o for people who are not familiar with it.
The "Getting Started" section of the handbook is targeted towards people getting started with Drupal in a more technical sense, ie. server specs, what content types are etc. so it would not be the right place for this.
New section under "Getting Involved"
As I said, more information would help...
I think you are right that a new or expanded section that points a person to G.D.O and includes the suggestion of looking for a group or creating one, is a good idea.
To use a phrase that is often put at the top of some Drupal pages ... "You are welcome to edit it. Be bold!"
Many others have edited those pages and created sections. You might be the next to add to them.
More info about...?
What is it you want more information about? I was just making a general suggestion on where it might fit in and be useful.
I am well aware of the ability to go ahead and add pages to the handbook, but I am currently trying to lead the charge to get the handbook updated for the D7 launch, so there's too much other high priority docs work I am focusing on to work on that right now.
If there is a general consensus that this is a good place for it and nobody else has time to do it, the best I can do right now is file an issue in the docs queue as a reminder to do it later on.
Nothing more ... I was just
Nothing more ... I was just letting you know that your reply did help, now I understand what you were describing, and that I concur.
I probably should have started the last post with "As I said, More information DID help..."
Sorry to make it more confusing. Just wanted to agree with your suggestion.
