Fun meeting!

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Glad I forced myself out of the house to yesterday's gathering at Philippe's. Great to meet and chat with all of you.

Couple of things that I thought of on the way home:

  • Small business resources. Personally, knowledge about starting a business is something I know nothing about. Would love to see some knowledge sharing about how to go about that. Drupal really seems open possibilities for new start ups, etc. Maybe we could start a wiki thread with resources.

  • Job resources. Seems to be a few of you looking for Drupal resources/developers. I'd love to see this group become a good resource for helping people to find other people, if you need a developer or need work. I've seen a few Drupal related jobs on Dice and Craigslist, and we should try to keep abreast via this group of companies looking, people looking, etc.

  • Dang, Philippe's makes a good sandwich, eh? Love this place. Great rooms upstairs.

Startup Camp

There is talk of a "Startup Camp". Subscribe to the mailing list and keep your ears peeled.

I believe that there is a solid one hour discussion on monetizing social networking services and the pump priming (business startup saga) that goes into that. I will begin to form an agenda and speaker list for next time.

Business opportunites?

I'd be very interested in forming a collaborative with local developers, designers, project managers, and entrepreneurs to develop tools and solutions, take on new business, and/or work with those who may need help on their existing projects. My primary interests are in developing tools/providing services for independent music/arts/media and building online communities.

Curious to hear more about the types of business opportunities and ideas people were kicking around - would like help put things in motion.

yes, let's do so, i'll attend as b4, all info is knowledge. and this would be a good place for programmers that want to find a project to come as well, also so it's not just business folks talking about ideas that may not work within drupal framework. i for one would appreciate the technical view and experience of programmers who have gone through the process b4 with any other folks trying to do business with drupal involved.
