I've been doing some research into the D7 File API and stream wrappers for the book, and I can share some cool stuff if people like.

Of course, I probably don't count because it's 20/80 I'll be there...
Office nomads offers a free 1
Office nomads offers a free 1 time/first time drop in day, so if you feel like coming to office nomads earlier than 3 to check out what their coworking space is like, you can. Big thanks to Office Nomads who have supported the Seattle Drupal Community since they opened (sponsoring Seattle Drupal Camps and hosting our barn raising too!)

GiveCamp Seattle
I'd like 5 minutes to talk about organizing GiveCamp Seattle. Like startup weekend but focusing on non profits (http://www.givecamp.org/)
Here is some information you can share about GiveCamp.
We are targeting mid-June (probably 6/11-13) for the Seattle GiveCamp. We just had our kick off planning meeting this week and are in the process of identifying and securing a facility, once we have that we can lock down the date.
While Microsoft is a sponsor of this event, it is open to all technology platforms - and it would be great to get representation from the Seattle Drupal community.
Here is some basic information about GiveCamp - to learn more you can visit our website - http://givecamp.org
GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, and database administrators donate their time to create custom software for non-profit organizations. This custom software could be a new website for the nonprofit organization, a small data-collection application to keep track of members, or a application for the Red Cross that automatically emails a blood donor three months after they’ve donated blood to remind them that they are now eligible to donate again. The only limitation is that the project should be scoped to be able to be completed in a weekend.
During GiveCamp, developers are welcome to go home in the evenings or camp out all weekend long. There are usually food and drink provided at the event. There are sometimes even game systems set up for when you and your need a little break! Overall, it’s a great opportunity for people to work together, developing new friendships, and doing something important for their community.
At GiveCamp, there is an expectation of “What Happens at GiveCamp, Stays at GiveCamp”. Therefore, all source code must be turned over to the charities at the end of the weekend (developers cannot ask for payment) and the charities are responsible for maintaining the code moving forward (charities cannot expect the developers to maintain the codebase).
Thanks,
Erik

Can't make it tonight...
Hi All,
Sorry, but I won't be able to make it to tonight's meeting.
Having said that, I just wanted to let you know that I looked into my "contacts" here at UW (which are limited) for a meeting space.
I asked for space for 40 people and this ended up being the problem for the folks in the buildings that I queried. It was either rooms with max cap of 25 or rooms with computers (labs) that folks didn't feel comfortable with "the public" hanging out in.
A couple folks offered up this as an alternative to the UW campus - http://www.spl.org/default.asp?pageID=branch_open_mtgrm&branchID=27
There are other options on the UW campus that could be looked into, but sounds like they would cost money. One example that I think is a perfect space is: http://www.lib.washington.edu/ougl/room220/
Have fun tonight.
Karen
Seattle Represent! DCSF
Several of our Seattle Drupal folks have proposed sessions for DrupalCon San Francisco. Please vote for their sessions. It would be great for Seattle to have a strong representation at DCSF!

Views Tutorial
It was fun attending my first meeting. I wish I had been able to stay for socializing, but I had to get back to my day/night job. Anyway, here is the views tutorial I mentioned briefly: http://infostructor.com/masteringviews/watchvideos.html
You have to pay to unlock some of the videos, but I think even the free parts are a pretty good orientation. I've literally watched every free video at Got Drupal, Mustard Seed, and Drupal by the Drop, and they have helped alot. I'm going to watch the "locked" content. I'll let you know how worthwhile it is.
