DrupalCampNYC3 donation to Drupal Association!

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

DrupalCampNYC3 is over and everything has finally been wrapped up. The camp was a big success bringing over 130 people together for one full day of Drupal Goodness and a second day of developer hacking. As usual the crowd consisted of people from all walks of life from the complete new-to-drupal person to the advanced Drupal hacker. It was a great time. Thanks to everyone that attended!

Now onto business. Sponsorships to DrupalCampNYC3 came to $2,628 cash after CC & bank fees. We spent $2,314 of that on T-Shirts, Stickers, buttons, Breakfast (2 days), Lunch (1 day), after camp drinks and other misc. fees (full discl. below). This left us with roughly $300 which was promptly donated to the Drupal Association. We felt that this donate was an appropriate use of Sponsorship funds as it helps to advance Drupal and eventually will help seed future DrupalCamps.

YOU guys made this possible, thanks to everyone!
You can get more information about expenses, etc. on my website

Thanks again to all of our sponsors! Brooklyn Polytechnic IDMI, SonyBMG, Pando, CivicActions, Advomatic, NY Observer, Jewcy, iMed, Large Animal Games and Inkos Tea. As well as the individuals Thomas turnbull., Shawn Gregg, Michael Hannum, Matthew Tarr, Charles Lenchner

A wonderful idea for how to handle the extra money.

Thanks to everyone that put in effort to organize the event. Also I'd like to thank you for the transparency of process, in terms of what money came in, what it was spent on and what extra went to the Drupal Association. It's a great precedent to set for similar future events!

Great idea

Jacob,
I'm really glad to hear about this- it seems like the most logical thing to do. You did an excellent job of setting up the conference and handling how the money was distributed.

Thanks again for a great conference! I'll be looking forward to next summer's.

Actually Sam Tresler came up with the idea, so credit goes to him (I should have mentioned it before). Next Drupal Camp will be even better!! I'll be doing what I can to help out.

By the way did you guys know that Sam Tresler has an IMDB name entry.. He's famous!

Hello All!

I just cannot believe, I missed it this year. Have to keep a sharper eye.

Was there a Drupal-CRM demonstration?

Will be more. Michael Goldsmith and other great people of the NYC Drupal group are slowly planning the next DrupalCamp which will occur sometime in the Winter.

Don't forget about the monthly meetups they are invaluable. At the meetups you'll meet tons of people that are using Drupal within the greater NYC area (stretching out to Jersey) and also be informed about what is happening in the Drupal and Web-Development scene around the world and in NYC.

Come'out to the Meetups and start planning to come to the next DrupalCamp.
