$90k? Good luck... especially

$90k? Good luck... especially in California. People with those skill sets clear $120k easy in flyover states with half the responsibilities.

Thank god someone said it. I was absolutely writhing in my seat when I read it.

I wonder if you're assuming this role would have mainly developer responsibilities? It sounds to me more like a support and training role for internal customers, with some extra stuff mixed in because in higher ed web teams we wear many hats. A job posting like this in Ohio would have a lower range for sure. Working in higher ed is great, but salaries tend to lag behind other industries.

Agreed but...

Yes, this is slightly higher than average pay for .edu and there are usually excellent benefits package that make up for the lower pay.

I'm really surprised there is no requirement for a basic understanding of #a11y (accessibility) or Section 508.

Accessibility requirements

Glad you mentioned it - The full job description does list this as a requirement, but you have to click the "Position Description" button on the job listing page to see it.

"Knowledge of accessibility (508) and how to utilize content management systems in order to
meet compliance."

Thanks!

Support and training role

This is more of a support and training role. Job description only states "Working knowledge of HTML and CSS."

Thanks!
