May Meetup

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hey Utah Drupalers,

How about we get the ball rolling for a meetup in May?

I'm looking at dates that don't conflict with too many other local tech events (http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=hhhlln87p4icc8q3c2bndmbjok%40gr...). I'm proposing the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 11th
  • Tuesday, May 18th
  • Wednesday, May 19th
  • Wednesday, May 26th

Possible topics for lightning talks:

  • Drupalcon recap - I think several people made it out to Drupalcon SF. We could each take a moment to share some highlights of Drupalcon.
  • What's new? - Take a few moments to share recent projects you've worked on, new modules you've found/developed, or new technologies you are working with.

I'd also be willing to lead open discussions on the following:

  • Scaleability - Recently did this for www.earthday.org. Expected 25 million visitors on Earth Day
  • Apache Solr + Drupal

Feel free to suggest more topics. We'll also need a place to meet, so if anyone can help out in that area, that would be great.

May 18th would be great as I'm going to be out of town may 9th-16th. What works for others?

Any of those days would work

Any of those days would work for me. We can meet at our offices again if people want to. Also, does anyone have the contact info for the Xmission guy who offered to buy pizza? :)

I have the contact info for the people at xmission about the pizza. I somehow missed this thread. I'll email him right away.

I'd love to join in again. May 18th works for me. I would personally prefer the 18th over the 11th. If there are not enough items/presentations to fill the time, I can probably share briefly/informally about a project that should be finished and a new module for Ubercart that I will have probably have contributed by then.

May 18 sounds great!

Looks like May 18th works for most people. j_ten_man, your offices will work... unless the group wants to propose another location?

looking for some help

My school in Salt Lake City has a pretty simple Drupal site. It was designed by a former student who has since moved and doesn't have time to maintain it anymore. Does anyone in this group know of someone who can maintain a Drupal site as part-time work?

Thanks,
Chris Sloan
