One of the passive ways to get a workout while you work is to use a medicine ball instead of your office chair. Using a medicine ball will destabilize your core and will force it to work to keep you upright. This article describes how to get started.

medicine balls or yoga balls?

We do this in Boston but we haven't gotten the yoga balls yet for our Los Angeles office. It's aggravating because as we dive more into work, we can definitely feel our bodies slowly getting more and more out of shape.

I used that for a couple of years, then the moving around, not more. Thanks for the reminder, like to use it again. The gym has a yogaball class, can not always make it, that is a problem.

Note that you really mean "Fitness Ball" ..

.. not "Medicine Ball." A Medicine Ball is a weighted (typically 5-8 lb.) hard rubber ball the size of a basketball. Generally, that will be too small to sit on effectively.

In contrast, a Fitness Ball is a soft rubber ball that you blow up like a balloon.

No biggie; just being pedantic. :-)
