Where exactly?
Maybe I'm missing something, but where exactly in Madison will this be held? On campus somewhere? A coffee shop?
Also, is this appropriate for someone brand new to Drupal like me with no PHP experience? I'm still going through tutorials with a test site and just trying to "pull it all together" at this point. However, I have been able to launch a site with Website Baker.
Please be honest if this would be of value for me or not. Not even sure if it would work for me as it's on a week night when I'm generally less available.
It's off campus
The location is actually the office of the employer of the PHP Meetup organizer. Since he's marked that venue private on Meetup, I didn't want to post details here, but if you visit the meetup link (and register for the group) you'll see the location.
The plan is to quickly demo the installation process, CCK and Views then (if time permits) to jump into api.drupal.org and how the hook system works.
Views and CCK
I am quite interested in Views and CCK! Installation in version 5 is super easy now.
Question from meeting tonight
Blake (or anyone):
Can you give me the link to that page called Drupal Projects (I think) where there is a collection of mods put together to create a certain type of Drupal site?
Thanks.
Installation profiles
I believe this is it: http://drupal.org/project/Installation+profiles
Another link
Here's the one Andrew was suggesting last night, which I couldn't find at the time

Props
Thanks for the presentation Blake. I am trying to convert one of my sites with 300+ registered users over to drupal-based site. I think I have my work cut out for me, but I hope it really does go my way. It's like you said, there is a lot of stuff that drupal can do and it has a bit of a learning curve to adjust to. It can only get better and easier.

Time saver
Check out drupal_execute() it'll save you a ton of time porting over the users...
