I'm interested in creating a community site for a professional group I'm involved with. The site would enable me to post periodic blog entries, allow for banner and side ads (html; gif; other) and would allow users to create a specific user account and then create their own postings and/or diaries or discussions, of which other registered users could suppplement, comment/respond.

Note: all users must be vetted -- at least have a account name and by email a password (which they could then change).

We're currently seeking a mid-level Web Developer (3-5 years experience please). Must be skilled with PHP and proficient with Drupal.

I seem to drive either to madison or milwaukee for all events or to find people that use drupal and thats a hike for someone that does not have much time. Its more of a hobby for me so not looking for gurus, I have a few sites already but looking to save each other some time on the learning curve. As well as help each other out when possible. Who knows maybe there could be a group of us between the two big cities that meet up to discuss problems and ways each one of us are doing things.

Seems like all the Drupal activity is in Madison & Milwaukee. Anyone over here on the Misssissippi?

I am planning to discuss CiviCRM, an open-source web-based Consumer/Constituent Relationship Manager. CiviCRM is a stand-alone platform with both Joomla and Drupal integration modules. I want to touch on the following topics:

1. What CiviCRM is and why you might want to use it.
2. How to install CiviCRM on a stock Drupal 6 site.

This month we'll go through the configuration of one of the sites built in the book Using Drupal. After taking a look at the site's configuration and module choices, we'll talk about what could have been done differently (and if that would be a good idea).

Mathematic Arts is looking for a full time Drupal and PHP expert. We are looking for someone who has advanced knowledge of Drupal and can start immediately on complicated and highly designed sites.

The ideal candidate has developed and published at least three non-trivial Drupal websites that include custom module development. jQuery experience is a plus. Job location is on site, no telecommuting.

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who responded to my last request to this group. I've found someone to help me build my site in Drupal.

I am also helping the UW Madison Horticulture Department recreate their current webpage (http://www.horticulture.wisc.edu/) in Drupal. I've set up the website but I'm not a designer, so I'm looking for someone to create a nice theme. I'm not sure yet how much the chair of the department is willing to pay. I think it would be between $500 and $1000 depending on the complexity.

Community Unit School District 300 is looking for a theme developer to build a new theme for our new Drupal 5 site. We have a base theme now but would like a completely new one that is much more aesthetically pleasing and school appropriate. School District 300 consists of 27 schools in the northern Illinois area. The project is scheduled to launch on Nov. 24th and should give the developer approximately 3 weeks to finish. For more information please contact me.

Our goal for this Drupal Camp is to bring everyone together for open communication, education, fun, and industry networking.

I just completed a tutorial for running Drupal 6 on Amazon's EC2 at http://www.sunsetlakesoftware.com/2008/09/13/running-drupal-website-amaz... . With the advent of the persistent storage that Amazon's Elastic Block Store provides, I figured that it was finally practical to operate a website out of EC2.

Easy user interface for adding entries to databases for events, publications, downloads.
Reliable search function which can find pages, downloads, buyable documents.
E-commerce with existing vendors (ViaKlix, DoIT)
Multi language - the whole site needs to be in English, Spanish, and Chineses. Certain pages need to be in Russian, French, and Portugese.

If you've got any relatively straightforward module ideas post them here, or shoot me an email. Right now I'm leaning towards building something that uses the Form API and AHAH (or AJAX).

At the June Madison Drupal meetup, I promised to post a little writeup on my site along with the CSS and PHP code for the custom theme I showed off. I finally got around to posting that information at http://www.sunsetlakesoftware.com/2008/06/21/architecture-site . The theme is attached to the post, but it is a Zen subtheme, so you'll need the Zen theme installed on your Drupal 6 site to use it.

I think TinyMCE is one of the most popular JavaScript WYSIWYG editors in Drupal. FCKEditor is an alternative to TinyMCE and I like it a little better because it is a little easier to configure. It also has its own file upload manager built in, but IMCE integrates a little better with Drupal's role system.

Here is that Drupal 5 theme cheat sheet that we talked about at yesterdays meeting.

Site is already developed. Client is looking for someone to do basic changes on an as-needed basis (image is in incorrect spot only in IE6) and to help set up a blog. Client would prefer someone in the Madison, WI area, if possible.

I'd be interested in learning the basics of module creation at a future Drupal users group meeting. I know basic PHP, not sure if I know enough to write my own mod, but I've had to modify Drupal code in the past and done so successfully.

Discussing Drupal in Wisconsin, our working together, brain storming future needs and general discussion is the Aim here.

Looking for D6 advice, from what I can figure out, there are three options (probably more)

1. User management-Profile (add fields)
2. Create Content - Profile as content
3. CCK

I want to create a site that has two main users: Volunteers and Organizations - so I've set up these two roles now I want to create two profile types, one for each role. How/Where should I create my extra fields so that they are available on registration, editable by the user and searchable.
