Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Abusive language is sometimes common on various chat services, due to their anonymous nature.

However, when sexist or abusive language becomes violent and physically threatening, it is illegal, and breaks state and federal laws.

The Drupal community refuses to allow or condone any such behavior that could cause distress to any of its members. We are a worldwide community with all kinds of people, and we are extremely proud of that. Discrimination and threats against any one of us are
threats against the whole Drupal community. In the U.S. specific laws prohibit harassment, including sexual harassment and threats of violence. We stand strongly against any such threats.

I hope everyone can stand with me for this statement at our next meetup on Jun 2nd. If anyone would like to propose modification please do, however my goal is to keep this a straightforward statement.

This is unrelated to further discussions regarding how to organize our community to resolve conflicts.

Thanks to chx and mcaudy for some of the above language.
