Views for Module Developers

Description

Views was originally targeted toward site builders to allow them to create lists of users and content without having to know any SQL or php, but it has grown to become an awesome tool for module developers creating custom or contrib modules. In this session we will cover how module developers can leverage the views module in the following ways.

Agenda

• Easily views enable your module's tables using the table wizard module. Complete with relationships and sorts.
• Create default views and admin screens of the content your module provides that come pre-packaged and ready use when you install your module.
• Create and extend Views "handlers" to get the view to output what you want.
• Using the features module to make the workflow even easier.

About the Presenter

I've been developing for drupal professionally since 2006, with a focus on social drupal sites. I founded my own drupal shop Twelve Grove Inc. and I am currently in NYC working on the artists site's platform at Sony music.
