DUG members interested in helping promote Instant Runoff Voting in Washington?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I've stuck my head into the IRV movement in Washington. The current web setup for IRV-Washington (IRVWa.org) needs a lot of help--it needs to move beyond it's Frontpage 6.0 roots.

I'm part of small group discussing a 'web retreat' weekend to migrate the web site to something more modern and maintainable. We're looking at the weekend of Jan 19/20.

I've been able to bootstrap a few Drupal sites, but I'm far from an expert. This is a great chance for local Drupal gurus to help with a great cause.

If you're bored that weekend or are interested in helping in some other way, please drop me a line in my contact page.

Thanks!

Kevin

Excellent!

Always a good season to promote alternative election systems. I'm very interested in participating and lending a hand with the Drupal backend.

Let me know what you're planning and if you need space to hold the meetings. We have several options available...

Official barn raising?

Is it too short of a time frame to make this into another "official" barn raising for SeaDUG?

My availability next weekend

Hey Kevin,

I will be available Saturday afternoon or possibly Sunday. Since it's a holiday weekend for some folks, we should probably set the date so people can get their plans organized. I would recommend Saturday, and mid day to early evening would work best for me. Will you post an event to the Seattle Group?

Do you have a location picked out? We could try to reserve our usual DUG spot at Vivace, but two other spaces that come to mind are:
http://officenomads.com/
http://www.saturdayhouse.org/

I see you have a DH account, can you prepare the basic install and database prior to the kickoff? Then we should be able to move quickly along with some modules and configuration, plus pulling over all of the content.

Look forward to it!

I know a lot of basics, but that's about it. Any help is appreciated.

Please drop me a message via my contact page and include your email address so we can coordinate our effort. I've contacted OfficeNomads and they are an option. If it's only a few people, I'm guessing a coffee shop would work fine. I'm above Online Coffee in Cap Hill and they have free WiFi.

Thanks for the interest!
