The A2Drupal user group is turning 1!
Thank you Mike Oconnor (of Jackson) for making the first connection. So in your honor I invite the Jackson user group to come once again to Ann Arbor to help me celebrate my first Drupal meeting. I'm throwing a birthday party for the A2Drupal users group!

yea its funny how i even
yea its funny how i even found this group. i have been valiantly striving to learn drupal and how to play with theming and modules. since i'm no coder, it has certainly been an uphill struggle. i started blogging on typepad, then made the jump to wordpress.com, then a full on hosted version of wordpress. then one day i stumbled upon drupal, saw the amazing power and have been hooked since! i dont know many people who are using it, so wrapping your mind around everything is challenging when its just yourself. then, i was driving along and all of a sudden the thought that there might be a drupal group locally popped into my head and lo and behold google delivered me to this group. i'm looking forward to the event! i have a graphic/web desgner friend i may bring with me.

UM students in the group
The University of Michigan students are highly under represented in this group. I think there are great opportunities for students to meet the local developers. I'm sure there are other students you know of that would also benefit. Spread the word and make the effort.

So many of our supporters have made great donations to the party! Of note, Switchback has come through in the last minutes to provide snacks as well as donating 3 more Pro Drupal Development books for the crowd. Awesome! That brings us to 11 Drupal books as door prizes.

Why not write a review?
I want to encourage those that received free books (8) at our last event to consider writting a brief review of your book. I don't know how else to thank Apress, Packt and Switchback for their donations to our group knowledge through books.
The book that I donated to the group was acquired by offering to write a review through Apress's user group program. I have registered the A2Drupal group with Apress and Packt publishing companys repective user group programs. The program offers free books in exchange for review and a discount on all books. And as you know they offer books for events such as we just had.
If you want to buy or review a book from Apress or Packt let me know.
