For capacity planning it's important to know what the rates are for people who sign up and don't show up.
Please fill in some details about your events so we can try to spot trends.
| Event place/date | Registered attendees | No shows | Attendee fee | Other circumstances |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drupalcamp Colorado 2010 | 300 (30 signed up night before/day of) | 20 | ~$35 (depends on purchase date) | n/a |
| Drupalcamp Colorado 2008 | 100 | 10 | $20 | n/a |
| Drupalcamp Atlanta 2010 | 225 | 23 | $25 | Had 3 walk-ins and 3 sponsors actually no-showed, including 1 with a booth |
| Drupalcamp Atlanta 2009 | 200 +- | 40+- | free | bad weather played a role in no-show rate; did not track no-shows as closely |
| BADcamp (Berkeley) 2010 | 493 | ~150? | $0 | ~30 walk-ins |
| BADcamp (Berkeley) 2009 | 350 | ~50? | $0 | ~30 walk-ins |
| BADcamp (Berkeley) 2008 | 300 | ~50? | $0 | ~20 walk-ins |
| BADcamp (Berkeley) 2007 | 250 | ~50? | $0 | ~10 walk-ins |
| Florida DrupalCamp 2010 | 231 | 34 | $10 | 13 walk-ins |

DrupalCon
Unbelievable as It might seem, DrupalCon no-show rates are in the neighborhood of ten percent. This is also what most meeting planners use for estimation.
Good info to know...
Thanks for starting this Greg - for those new to Drupalcamp organizing this is an oftentimes over-looked part of the planning efforts. The norm seems to be that most camp venues will have a max capacity. When ordering food, calculating your budget, determining when to sell-out, etc. you should factor in a 10%+- no-show rate.
Cheers,
Dave
