DrupalcampNYC2016 Registration Now Live!
We are excited to announce that we have secured John Jay College in Midtown Manhattan for DrupalCampNYC2016 (#DCNYC16), to be held Saturday, February 27th, 2016!
DCNYC16 will be a full-day Drupal unconference and sprint event. All skill levels are welcome! The content is determined by attendees at the beginning of the day, but you can expect to find sessions and conversations on topics ranging from the most basic to advanced.
Among the exciting details of the camp include
• Morning coffee, bagels and a schmear (wouldn't be a NYC camp without 'em!)
Drupal 8 is out -- let's get the User Guide done!
As I'm sure most of you know, Drupal 8.0.0 was released a few weeks ago (and 8.0.1 has already followed). There was much rejoicing, after several years of development!

Proposal: D8 Contrib Office Hours
(Stretching the definition of the "core" group a bit here, but this is important to Drupal 8, so hopefully this is ok. :))
Now that Drupal 8.0.0 is nearing its final release, the next task in front of the Drupal community is porting ALL the contributed projects! Luckily, this effort is very much underway, but the faster the majority of big modules are at least usable (ideally with stable releases), the faster Drupal 8 adoption will take off.

Your turn to provide feedback on the Drupal 8 cycle!
Dries Buytaert, the Drupal project lead, will facilitate a Drupal 8 retrospective discussion at DrupalCon Barcelona.
After more than four years of development, Drupal 8 is quickly approaching its first release candidate. This will be a landmark release with myriad new features and improvements. In addition to many technical changes, we innovated on how we collaborate on the Drupal project itself as well as on drupal.org. We involved more than three times the contributors of Drupal 7. Now it's time to take stock of the cycle, of where we've been and how it went, so we can keep improving. We'd like your input on the following:
- What worked well? What were the highlights of the Drupal 8 cycle?
- What didn't work well? What are lessons we've learned for upcoming releases or for the community as a whole?
- What concrete improvements can we make for future releases (both minor and major)? We welcome suggestions around teams, tools, or processes.
Please submit your answers online. Dries will gather the community's responses and use them as the basis for the open discussion at DrupalCon Barcelona.
