When I registered, I never got the option to set a password, and requesting a new password doesn't seem to do anything (I'm using a UC Berkeley email if it helps).
I've also been trying to register. I am having the same problem as others are reporting- not being able to set a password, and not receiving emails either as an autoresponse or to try and reset my password. No error messages are being displayed on the site, so I can't tell if I have created an account or not.
Ah well, I assume it's being looked into.

I too am having the problem with not receiving e-mails from badcamp, neither that I have registered for the site nor password reset requests. Not only that, the Create New Account screen gives no kind of feedback that it worked or that you are automatically registered for BadCamp by creating a login (the wording "we'll sign you up" implied to me that a human would review the signups before actually making it official if I was a new site registration.) In the mistaken belief that it hadn't worked, I tried 3 different e-mail addresses (in case it was a spam blocker) and 2 different browsers (in case NoScript was causing the problem in Firefox), none of which resulted in an e-mail.
I came back to this thread, only to learn that registering for the site auto-registers for BadCamp itself. I checked the membership list only to discover I have signed myself up for 3 different attendance slots. I really only need 1, and then only for Sunday.
Please be so kind as to remove the extra 2 registrations.
Original registration (the one I want to keep): Chas Belov
Excess registrations (please delete): Charles Belov, Chas Y Belov
Sorry about the inconvenience.
I also respectfully suggest that the BadCamp create login procedure give a confirmation message that the signup has worked and that the new login has been automatically signed up for BadCamp.

I have been unable to get ahold of the person in charge of our domain's DNS, so the problem with our emails being blocked by your ISPs, or sent to your spam folder can't be resolved at the moment.
I have temporarily removed the email verification requirements, hopefully removing the issue for all new accounts. But please, anyone having trouble with an existing account, contact me and I will reset your passwords so that you can log in and propose sessions!

signup issue?
Hi Jen,
I just tried but failed to create an acct.
I'd enter my passwd, then get looped back to same request.
Then, I tried to request a new PW. Nada.

I have the same problem
Hi Jen,
The sign-up failed and request new password failed. Pretty site though!

Not fully qualified domain name.
Wanted to let someone know,
my email server is rejecting the email from the registration at bad camp. I am getting bad email headers, cause, not fully qualified domain name.
I am sure that this is not just happening with my mail servers. This is standard security practice to minimize spam. have all mail from a FQDN.
reject: RCPT from 184-106-137-7.static.cloud-ips.com[184.106.137.7]: 504 5.5.2 : Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<www-data@badcamp>
Please update DNS so we can all use and have our accounts.
this would also explain some of the people are having issues.
Hope this helps..

It registered me, but no password option

Same story here. Instead of a UC Berkeley email address, I used an email address hosted by Rackspace Email.
When I created a new account using an email address hosted on a server at SoftLayer, however, I did receive a welcome email.
I've seen something similar to this happen before when the myorigin and mydestination settings used by Postfix were incorrectly configured.
Fixed my problem (hopefully)
I started to reply to this thinking it was something else. My bad, sorry. I'll lurk and read more before putting my keyboard in my mouth again.
Am Registered
Hi Jen,
The email from you for password setup did give a good link, and I was able to establish a Badcamp password, and upload photo, and so on. :-)
And I just successfully logged Out from 2010.badcamp.net, and then logged back in and successfully browsed about. Looks to be working fine.

Signup Reply Email
My signup reply email went to spam, apparently due to the lack of the dot net extension on the badcamp email return address.
