I'm new to Drupal and am very interested in participating in a Drupal Users Group in Santa Clara. Are there other users who would be interested in meeting at the Mission City Roasting Company (or other location)?

Meeing on the Peninsula
Hi, Rebecca. I'd be interested in meeting somewhere on the Peninsula. I'm in Burlingame, but I can come south to Santa Clara. It would be great to get together with a fellow female Drupaler (guys are more than welcome, though! :-) We could meet and come up with a plan as to the future of a possible group. There used to be a meet-up in Sunnyvale, but I only got to attend it once before it fizzled out unfortunately.

Hi Rachael,
I'm an absolute beginner, so I'm most interested in getting some hands-on experience on moving static content over to Drupal. I've been wandering around the maze of drupal.org documentation posts as well as audio and video episodes by Lullabot, Art Lab Drupal School, Geeks and God, etc. but haven't found the kind of "how to" or tutorials that would make Drupal more accessible to me for making a department website.
Once I get a stronger understanding of how to use Drupal, I'll gladly contribute documentation and resource lists to the community.

Meeting on the Peninsula
I was running the meetup group for the peninsula and we had a bunch of meetings but sort of had trouble with a venue, plus I ran out of time to organize it. Perhaps its a good idea to keep it social...not worry about a projector and internet access etc. I'd be up to meet wednesdays or fridays when I am working in Sunnyvale.

I attended the last of the south bay "meetups", and would love to attend a new set of meetings in the south bay as well. (it sure would be easier then making the trek up to berkeley...though i still plan on doing that when i can. :)
Unfortunately, i don't have a place to offer up for meeting either (except for my house, which maybe we can do at some point).
Meeting at a social place (that doesn't have internet or a projector) would be ok, provided we wanted to do more talk than show-n-tell.
