NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1 Views Export

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

It's used by firefox, safari, internet explorer, etc etc. We use it every day, and it is clearly outlined. I've been searching high and low for some sort of module via drupal that would export to the infamous "NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1" format. Here's the format:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa753582%28VS.85%29.aspx

I immediately noticed how similar it is to:
http://drupal.org/project/views_export_xls

I'm proposing a module that is for this "views_export_NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1" or some jazz like that.

Can someone can tell me that this module already exists? Otherwise I have to develop it personally :(

tl;dr:
Has someone written an export module that follows the this format?:

What would you like to export?

What exactly are you wanting to export from a Drupal system into this format? Some form of site map, a View, personal bookmarks list from one of the sundry personal bookmarking modules?

If you're thinking along the lines of a site map export, maybe a module to complement the XML Sitemap module would do the trick, converting an industry-standard search engine site map into a bookmark file.

If you want to create a bookmark file from some other collection of links, the solution is going to be highly dependent on what module(s) manage that data...

I'm sorry I didn't make this

I'm sorry I didn't make this clear.

The data would be from a view, and it needs to relate to two of the fields for 1) the URI, and 2) the Title of the URI (at least!).

The data that I want to export would be a "view" that has specific filters (perhaps even exposed parameters). The dependency here would be the "views" module, much like the 'views_export_xls' module I mentioned earlier.

No problem!

Thanks for the clarification. That definitely sounds like a good module to add! I wonder if there is any way to hook into the existing Views RSS display type to generate HTML markup instead of RSS markup... If not, that would probably be a good place to start looking for guidance.

Option...?

I was looking around and just ran across this module Views Node Feed, which could possibly accomplish what you are talking about with a little TLC.

Also, have you considered just building a page view with your own Views templates to accomplish the same thing?
