Hi,
I've just faced some troubles on my hosting and had to move to another one, and I am afraid that I was not able to do a backup (not a big loss because I did not had any thing installed yet except the drupal and the phpbb), so I had to redo the installation again (Thanks for archard for the amazing help that he told me many things to let it work, I think he is busy now to reply me).
So I've installed 5.7 again and as soon as I go to enable Clean URLs it was not active, so I hit run the test, so I've got the error 404 error, and 403 error. Please advise how can I fix it.
Thanks

Sort of on the side of this

Sort of on the side of this module, but I'll try to give you some hints anyway. There are three possibilities I can think of
1) You forgot to copy / install Drupal's .htaccess file
2) Your new host is a different Apache version or webserver, need to modify the .htaccess file accordingly
3) Your new host does not support mod_rewrite

Thanks for replying mate. 1)

Thanks for replying mate.
1) All I did is extracting the compressed file then upload it to the root directry of public_html. Do I need something special?
2) Apache version 2.2.8 (Unix) on my hosting account. How to configure this right?
3) How to know if it is so or not?
Please advise. Thanks

Thanks for your help mate,

Thanks for your help mate, problem solved ... Honestly the support I found here is the main reason why I am still using phpbb3. Thanks and much appreciated. After a lot of review for different CMS I am really can not let go for Drupal and because of drupal I will use phpbb3.

Clean URLs

Hi guys, I have been trying to follow the steps from: Building powerful and robust websites with Drupal 6 by David Mercer. I am running my Drupal 6.1 on Ubuntu Linux. I started by clicking on Administer, then Site Configuration. Under Site configurations, I clicked on Clean URLs. However, both the Disable and Enable radio buttons are grey, leading me to the screenshot that reads:

"Your system configuration does not currently support this feature. The handbook page on Clean URLs has additional troubleshooting information."

I followed the link of "The handbook page on clean URLs", but after trying out all their suggestions my radio buttons (Enable/Disable) are still grey hence can't enable my Clean URLs. Need help urgently..
