Contact.ie began in 2008 as a one page contact form to allow users to contact politicians in Ireland. In 2009, we began allowing users to post blogs, create petitions, and use a CitizenSpeak feature. Recently, with the advent of DrupalCommons, we have opened it up to a fully-fledged social networking site, centered around the open contact form for anonymous users to continue posting emails to politicians (unless the feature gets abused). The site is in very early stages of it's social network incarnation, but is growing!
