UTO has released the ASU directory module for use on department Drupal sites.

What is it? It's a module for Drupal 5.x that you can install which will give you blocks of people in groups. All information is pulled from the directory. Once you've created the blocks, they can then be assigned to any page or location on your pages.

What is it used for? It's perfect for creating a dynamic staff/about page which will update to match the people in your directory

Does it have other features? Yes, it has the ability to change the order of members, add additional information to each person, or even hide people from displaying on the page. For example, you may not want to display student workers on your staff page, so you can hide them in that particular block.

Why should I use it? The main reason for using it is to provide an updated list of your staff members. You can create an about page in roughly 5 minutes which is dynamically updated and doesn't require much work or know-how to get setup. If you do have questions, there are some troubleshooting steps in the readme.txt file, included in the module.

You can download it over at the web community forums: http://web.asu.edu/community/asu-directory-module-released

Email Display Issue

Nice job on the module..

I noticed that if you set the module to display the email address (global settings) when you visit the page and click the email address it appends the URL of the website so you get a page not found?

Not sure if this is an issue on our site only. You can see what i mean by visiting the page below

good catch

Good catch. I will have to update that immediately, it can't go on production sites with an error such as that. I'll reupload the module to the forum in a few mins.

Thanks for finding that bug!
