I just came across http://www.google.com/radioautomation/index.html . When did Google enter the radio automation market? I'd be very interested to see what the pricing looks like. My guess is that they did this as a long range way to sell audio ads to radio stations. Outsource your sales department to Google and the ads just magically show up in the playlists.

For a while, it seems...
Google bought out Scott Studios and the SS32 software some time ago. They've been tweaking it and it looks like they're finally putting it prime time.
They are already selling audio ads to radio stations - see http://www.google.com/adwords/audioads/

right, i knew i'd seen
right, i knew i'd seen something about them selling radio ads... but the only reason i can see them selling the software is to integrate the ad sales directly.
of course!
Sure, if they own that and sell it big, they can also write in their own API to get their AdWords program running smoothly with a minimum of effort. Lateral expansion is always a plus for the corporation.

NAB Show
They hosted a demo last year but the real commercial debut was scheduled yesterday, at the NAB show. I wonder how much it costs?
I like pretty green rackmount hardware...
Google Radio Automation... now Wide Orbit
Not sure what color the servers are now but Wide Orbit bought GRA and they've integrated it into some of their other offerings. I'd like to know how to get their "Now Playing" XML into an RSS feed that can then be played with by Drupal. Anyone tried this? Also need to do this for other radio automation systems like Prophet.
