Anyone going to LinuxFest Northwest next weekend (Sat/Sun, April 26-27)? Events of interest (see web site for more info):

  • 4 members of SeaDUG are giving Drupal talks at LinuxFest Northwest, all day Saturday
  • Other talks on Saturday and Sunday on all kinds of open-source software subjects
  • Raffle - Saturday at 4 PM
  • Salmon lunch - Saturday at noon
  • Alternative Energy and Robotics displays going on all day both days

Here are some transportation options:

  • Free bus - leaves from North Seattle Community College at 8 AM both days, departs Bellingham at 5 PM both days to return, limited space, register now!
  • Drive by yourself - it's about 90 miles / 1.5 hours from Seattle
  • Carpool

If you would like to carpool with SeaDUG members, reply to this message with the following information (or contact someone else who has already replied):

  1. Do you want to drive, or do you need a ride
  2. Where you want to leave from (area of town)
  3. How many people need rides, or how many people you can take in your car
  4. Your schedule (which days and your planned times)

I am planning to drive up on Saturday morning, leaving early enough to arrive in Bellingham by 9:30 AM. Talks start at 10 AM, but (since I'm speaking) I'd like to check in, get oriented, and possibly try out the sample projector before the talks start. On the return end, I would like to stay for the raffle (4-5 PM or so), and am flexible about attending any evening activities in Bellingham that come up. I was thinking about going for both days and staying overnight, but I don't see too many talks of interest on Sunday.

So, I can take up to 3 passengers and gear, or would be happy to ride with someone else (1 passenger).

I would like to depart from Exit 175 on I-5 on Saturday morning at around 7:45 AM; the return is flexible on Saturday evening.

I can meet people at the Exit 175 (N 145th St) interchange of I-5, at one of the Northgate Park & Ride lots, the Jackson Park (NE 130th) Park & Ride, or any other nearby (or farther north) park & ride lot with quick freeway off/on access.

Contact me via my profile contact form.
