Greetings MT Drupaliers!

I found that I had to move my site. I went from a MySqli to a MySql database set up.

Everything (I believe) is the same.

The site will not connect (thelightscriber.com ) and shows it offline and that I am facing DB issues.

I did change the settings file in the DB line but that was it. Still a no-go.

I have searched but most threads say to just change the one line in Settings. Did that but still epic fail.

Any clues? I realize that more info will be needed but I didn't want to dump it all here if no one has experienced and repaired this problem before.

Thanks!

Congratulations! Would you share what you had to do to resolve the problem?

Problem not completely resolved but..

What I ended up doing is to wipe the site and data base off the server and then did a fresh core install of Drupal without any modules or even the old database.

Then with a fresh basic working install in place I went back and wiped all the new database tables and imported my sites database. After that I replaced the core new install files with the old sites files and directories all EXCEPT the sites/all/default folders-files because those are needed to connect the Drupal site with it's corresponding database.

Key points.

1) I installed a fresh core (only) Drupal site on the new server with the exact same version the full site is using.
2) I made sure I did not over write the full sites settings.php files when I transferred the full site so I wouldn't
lock out the Drupal files from it's database.

I am still having issues as for some reason the Views-Gallery that Scott built for me will not recognize the files that are already in place so it won't render the images like it did in it's old server. It does render (print) the descriptions of the images and the slideshow settings stayed intact. I have reconnected or cleared up most of the path errors but the images issue(s) are still giving me fits.

The files are there and the Path To Files is identical but the error Drupal kicks back says they aren't there and yet they are. I have ensured that the permissions set on the directories and files allows Drupal full access but...

So in addition to fighting the flu right now, this has been a mind bending experience.
