Do you know what mappings you want to have for your fields?

And will the members use forms to input this information? If so, what will be the information collected by the forms.

You should be able to do all

scor's picture

You should be able to do all the field stuff with Drupal 7 core, http://drupal.org/project/link and http://drupal.org/project/references

Then you will need to http://drupal.org/project/rdf to apply the proper RDF mappings to these fields.

Thanks

RDFa within Drupal 6 or 7

Dan@Ontos's picture

@Datorres: We have created a tool called Ontos Feeder that creates automatically RDFa from text and adds the annotation to your Drupal page. You can find the link under http://sourceforge.net/projects/ontosfeeder/ or on our web page (www.ontos.com) under show case gallery. We started the process of adding it to Drupal but not sure why it has not been yet accepted.
Currently the module is based on FOAF and creates RDFa for persons, organization and location. If you need other entities jusut let us know.

Dan@Ontos, RE: adding the module to drupal.org.... have you requested a CVS account? Do you have a link to the thread where you requested it? I can take a look and see if I can tell what's holding it up.

Hi Lin,
Yes we did. Alex Klebeck (our developer) how wrote the Ontos Feeder module followed the instructions.

where to start?

i'm experienced in drupal but an absolute newbie to semantic.
i have a customer who wants to use semantic features so i'm just beginning on the road to understanding it.
i'm going to use D7 as they wont really require too many modules to start with.
can someone recommend some good tutorials ? drupal specific would be best
thanks

Some pointers

scor's picture

Check the RDF introduction handbook page which contains lots of pointer for newbies (anyone feel free to update it with other links we might have missed). Have you also checked the RDF sessions from the previous DrupalCons? The last one was at DrupalCon Copenhagen: Introduction to the Semantic Web and RDF in Drupal 7. There is also some documentation on Drupal 7's RDF Mapping API though you might not need to go so far if you just want simple/basics semantics.
