How to Create a Students Score Module

First, here is the problem with your expected approach. If the field can let anyone enter any university ID, then bam, now one person has all of the scores of every student.

The way you should approach this problem is first from identity management. Does the university use a system like LDAP or Shibboleth? If so you should use ldap_auth or shib_auth modules to pull in the id, then you will already have that ID associated with that user in the $_SERVER or $_SESSION and you don't let them enter IDs, you just present them with the data when they request it.

Would the students who's data it is like their friends (or strangers) to know their results?
You also suggest revealing the name of the student just by knowing (or guessing) their ID which is just as scary.

I'm really hoping this is a toy assignment and not a serious project. There are several ways to achieve what you describe but if you don't care about data protection issues then why not just post a list of all student IDs with results against them (which is the same data as would be posted on a campus notice board).

Well, interesting, I guess I was blinded by my own culture, where privacy is such a big issue.
You have many ways to achieve this. One way is add a profile category to the users, say grades. Then add a field for it for each test. Then you can import the data and populate those fields with it.

Probably easier though is use something like http://drupal.org/project/gradebook Gradebook module, but then give permissions for everyone to see.

A couple questions here:

1. Are people entering the scores manually, or are they being pulled from an external data source?
2. Do students have accounts on the site?
3. Will one student be accessing multiple scores (ie, for many classes) or are they accessing their overall GPA?

You could use nodereferences and userreferences to connect students, grades, and courses. Additionally, you could use http://drupal.org/project/nodeaccess_userreference (grab the dev version for some recent improvements) to create some privacy controls so people's grades aren't publicly accessible.

Then, if a student logs into the site, they could be presented with a view that shows their grades.

Hello everyone, please i am creating a website for a school and i want at the end of every term or semester, the students will log on to the school website and input some number and their result for that term will be shown to them. They can print their result as well.
The student may not log in to the website but can check their own result as many universities do today
