technical presentations ...
Hi,
Would it consist any technical sessions / discussions?
Also would it be drupal 7 centric or .... ?
Are you all planning to come up with some discussions related to enterprise level drupal project management - CI processes, automated tests, code reviews etc?
Thanks,
Sree

Damn!!
I will be in mumbai but the timings are odd :( I would have preferred sunday as I am working on saturday and even though I will be free by 6 I live another part of town. Hope you guys have fun!!
@Sree CI with drupal is a beast but worth the effort, before going CI route I am sure there are many things you can do to improve your development workflow which we recently got done with and now enjoy a fun dev workflow.

dev workflow ....
Hey Dipen,
Can you please share the strategy / approach that you are using with us ? would like to explore the different ways that different teams are using for a painless dev ....
Sree
Depends
Hi Sree,
It depends a lot on the size of team, structure of team when advising a development workflow as implementing a dev workflow is more of a people problem rather than a technical problem. It obviously is easier for small teams to adapt to changing landscape of drupal development but I think its worth the time for large teams to rethink their dev workflow. As for us, we use features to keep configuration in code, use drush make and install profiles to save bootstrap and deployment time. Drush make can also provide for safety net against core/contrib hacked situations which is very much required for large teams. CI makes sense when you have bunch of test suites (unit, performance) that needs to be run as code keeps coming in, we have not fully integrated CI but have done trials with hudson and drupal.
Cheers

agree ...
Hi Dipen,
Yes, I agree that it depends on lot many factors ranging from team size to structure etc.
But, its worth discussing with different parties where in we can chip in different ideas from different teams. At the EOD there would be some decent approach getting shaped with combined scenarios useful for a wider range of teams.
Sree
Thanks for the response
Hi Sree, Dipen,
@Sree: We are trying to bring together people to discuss and work together on various aspects of Drupal. This could be project planning, information architecture, development, testing, installation profiles, team strategies, code reviews & standards, etc.
@Dipen: Got your message about the schedule. We are looking into will post an update soon.
@All: The topics for presentation are just an open list. Anyone is welcome to put in a presentation ( 30 mins would be good.) Lets us build a strong and vibrant community here in Mumbai for everyone associated in some way or the other with Drupal.

We are planning on rescheduling the event for next Sunday 4pm. That would be 20-Feb-2011.
@Sree: We can accommodate close to 40-50 people. And more the merrier. In future if we want to have bigger meets or organize a large scale event, we can pool in resources and book a venue.

Good meetup with Drupal Mumbai community
Hello.
Thanks Blisstering Soln's for an interesting meetup yesterday. Am looking forward to working with the drupal
mumbai community on providing contributions back to the drupal.
These contributions would be in the form of issue/bug fixes. adding features to existing modules and maybe porting contrib theme/module
to D7.
Thanks.
